  • Why did the Society commission a Governance Review?

    Charity governance has become more high-profile and more rigorous over the last few years, and the Charities Act 2022 is now in force. It is good practice for any charity to review its governance every so often.

  • Who carried out the Review?

    Lucy Devine led the Review. Lucy is a chartered governance professional and is a Fellow of the Governance Institute. She specialises in scientific and medical charities, and has worked with many other Royal Charter organisations. Council is now working with Lucy and with our solicitors, Birketts LLP, on how to implement the recommendations of the Review.
